As you enter the building the font stands to your right on the original encaustic tile floor (made by Craven Dunnill of Ironbridge). To your left are two doors, the first of which leads to a spiral staircase taking you to the organ loft. The Walker organ, installed in 1911, is in good working order. A trapdoor gives access to the cellar which houses an oil-fired central heating boiler (not used for many years). The second of the doors leads into the vestry. Ahead of the main entrance stand double doors which lead you into the main area of the building. There are numerous wonderful features including, but not limited to, the original oak parquet floor, further Craven Dunnill tiling, Victorian cast iron radiators, wonderful windows which fill the building with light and, perhaps the most striking feature of all, the wealth of carved sandstone and magnificent pillars.
Viewing the property is highly recommended as no photograph or literature could begin to do this unique building justice.
