Beaches To Visit On Your Holiday

With numerous beaches and activities within easy reach you are sure to find something for all the family to enjoy. Here are just a few ideas, There’s many more to be discovered !

Morfa Nefyn and Porth Dinllaen

 The beach sweeps round from the entrance at Morfa Nefyn to the waterside hamlet of Porth Dinllaen and then around to the lifeboat station on the end of the headland.

There are toilets at the entrance to the beach at Morfa Nefyn and at the Ty Coch (pub) in Porth Dinllaen. The golf course runs along the top of the headland behind Porth Dinllaen and there is a public footpath along the middle of it

Porth Iago

Porth Iago is a beautiful golden sandy South West facing cove beach. access is by permission of the farmer at Ty Mawr charging only £2 for parking and restricted to the hours of daylight only. Early morning bathers may have the whole beach to themselves.

Black Rock Sands

Black Rock Sands, a popular wide sandy beach with a rocky headland at the western end of the beach and a backdrop of sand dunes that are a site of special scientific interest. When the tide recedes you can explore the rock pools, exposed caverns and multi coloured rock face ( the rocks are not black ! ).

 

Porth Oer/Whistling Sands

Porth Oer/Whistling Sands is one of only a couple of beaches in Europe where the sand actually "Whistles" under your feet. This is due to the particles of sand being a certain shape.

The beach is a cove that is full of sand with just the odd rock about. The beach is commonly used for surfing.

There is a small cafe on the top of the beach. The beach and the land around it is National Trust owned. Dogs are not allowed on the beach from May to (end of) September. There are some toilets up the road from the beach, next to the car park.

Aberdaron Beach

An attractive little fishing village at the far end of the Lleyn peninsula is situated in a sheltered bay and has a mile long sandy beach backed by sand dunes. Ideal for sunbathing, swimming, ball games and picnics. Behind these is the delightful village with its cafe's, bars, church and medieval hump bridge and
shops.

Abersoch Beach

A delightful seaside resort popular with sailing enthusiasts, has two long sandy beaches with sand dunes to the rear. There is a lively harbour, narrow streets with interesting shops
.
